The facility of CT scanning is available in the hospital round
the clock, for indoor as well as outdoor patients. The CT machine
is a Philips Tomoscan M/EG/Compact suitable for a wide range
of computed tomography (CT) applications including head and
body various parts. High resolution scanning as required for
the temporal bone and selected cases of the chest is also available.
Technology
Its operation is based on the principle that various types of
tissue present in the human body will, when subjected to X-ray,
exhibit different radiation attenuation characteristics. This
enables the various types of tissue and their location within
a selected area of the body to be seen. In particular the presence
of any abnormal concentration tissue can be detected. These
different characteristics are accurately measured and computed
reconstruction image created.

Facility for CT guided FNACs and biopsies are also available.
The department is equipped with a laser scopix LR 2100 AGFA
camera which transfers the acquired images on to high quality
laser film.
