in the country, the hospital is today proud of its
team of eminent and experienced surgeons who perform
a wide range of General and Super Specialty Surgeries
including Orthopaedics & Trauma, Neurosurgery,
Plastic Surgery, Urology, Cancer Surgery and full
range of Minimal access Surgery. Our team has successfully
performed more than 5,000 endoscopic surgeries till
date. Using equipments of international standards
we can proudly compete with the west today in terms
of technical excellence. The Dept. is also equipped
with the latest version of Extra Corporeal Shock
Wave Lithotripsy (ESWL), Ureteroscopy, and routinely
performs ENDOUROLOGY including PCNL, TURP, TURBT,

| Technique |

The removal of Gall Bladder with stones
i.e. Laparoscopic Cholecystectomy is a highly advanced
technique for the removal of Gall Bladder disease and
stones. In this procedure a laparoscope is introduced
in the abdomen through a small puncture and it is attached
to a video camera. This transfers the image of the organs
of the abdomen to the T.V. monitor. The images are magnified
about 20 times and the internal organs are visualized
clearly on a TV Monitor. A team of surgeons specially
trained in this procedure perform the operation by looking
at the images on the monitor, using long instrument specially
designed for this procedure. Detached Gall Bladder is
removed through one of the holes. Stones if large are
crushed before delivery of the Gall Bladder.

by Laparoscopic Surgery are: -
No Incision; hence No Scar
Minimal Blood Loss during surgery
Reduced Operative Time as well as Reduced Hospital
Stay
Rapid Post Operative Recovery
Pain free post operative period

Training
Programs
|
|
Since 1991 when Laparoscopy was introduced
in our Country the consultants have been in the forefront
of this minimal access movement and constantly endeavour
to be technically at par with the best. Our centre has
been providing training to young surgeons who want to
pursue laparoscopic surgery as their career. The Dept.
is approved as a training center for Laparoscopy by IMA,
Academy of Medical Specialities. A large number of young
Surgeons have successfully completed their training here
and are performing safe Laparoscopy at their centers spread
all over the country.

Acute
Appendictis
|
|
One of the commonest surgical disorders
in the younger age group can be very effectively diagnosed
and treated by Laparoscopy. World wide studies have shown
that 20-30% patients operated by conventional techniques
of surgery had some other causes of their problems. Laparoscopy
not only confirms the disease but treats it also at the
same time. Cosmetically also it is very acceptable to
the younger generation. Most patients are discharged the
next day.

Hernias
|
|
Hernia is a small defect in the abdominal wall through
which the intestinal contents try to come out. Usually
reducible they become an emergency when the contents do
not go back inside the abdomen. Most hernias whether Inguinal,
Epigastric, Umbilical or Incisional can be repaired Laparoscopically
by a mesh. However the final modality has to be decided
only after careful clinical evaluation.

Varicocele
|
|
One of the commonest causes of Oligospermia and infertility
in the males. This is surgically corrected by laparoscopic
ligation of the abnormal vessels.

|
|
 |
Laparoscopy
For
Infertility
|
|
World wide laparoscopy when combined with hysteroscopy
gives the most comprehensive information regarding the
causes of infertility. Not only is the cause pinpointed
very specifically, but most of the times the corrective
surgical measures can be taken at the same sitting.

Laparoscopic
Ovarian Cystectomy
|
|
Ovarian Cysts which are perhaps the commonest Gynecological
disorder can be accurately diagnosed and treated laparoscopically.
Endometriosis (Chocolate Cyst disease), a very common
cause of chronic pain lower abdomen and infertility is
best treated today by fulgiration in combination with
medical management (Danazol).

Laparoscopic
Hystrectomy
|
|
Hysterectomy one of the commonest surgeries performed
in women of the peri-menopausal age group has undergone
a sea change today. What used to be dreaded in the past
has today become routine due to the advances in LAPAROSCOPIC
Surgery. Common Indications for LAVH are - Excessive Uterine
Bleeding, Uterine Fibroids, Uterine Dysplasia.
