The department of Padiatrics provides comprehensive
health care to all children from birth to adolescence.
Neonatal
Services
All deliveries conducted in the hospital
are attended by a trained pediatrician.
For the care of very low birth weight babies and other critically
sick neonates we have a Newnatal Intensive care unit. It is
equipped with a Newnatal Ventilator, Vital sign monitors,
Double surface phototherapy units and Infusion pumps etc.
Various procedures like lumbar puncture, insertion of chest
tubes, exchanges transfusion, insertion of central venous
line and arterial cannulation are under taken as and when
required.
A number of very low birth weight babies and other critically
sick new born babies who require Ventilatory support have
been successfully managed in our NICU.
All babies discharge from NICU are followed up regularly for
their developmental assessment.
All low birth weight babies are examined by an ophthalmologist
for any evidence of Retinopathy of prematurity and early intervention
programme.

Immunisation against childhood illness
like Dephtheria, Tetanus, Whooping cough, Measels, Mumps,
rubella, Typhoid fever, Chickenpox, Hepatitis A and
B, are given daily. BCG vaccination against TB is given
once a week on Wednesdays.

Children
with speech disorder are given speech therapy by an experienced
audiologist and speech therapist.
•
Services
of a child psychologist are available for children with
behaviral problem.

Facilities for admission of sick children
are available in both private and general wards.
•
All very
sick infants and children beyond the neonatal period are
managed in pediatrics wing of ICU.
•
Pediatric emergency services are available
round the clock.
•
Services
of super specialists like pediatric Cardiologist, Pediatric
Gastroenterologist, Pediatric Neurologist and pediatric
surgeon and Neurosurgeon are available.
