Gall Bladder Removal (Cholecystectomy) is the operation
of choice from Symptomatic Gall Stone disease. Removal
of gall blader with stones with key hole surgery
has been successfully done with at our centre since
the begining of this decade.
In the procedure of Lap.Chole the Gall Bladder is
removed by making small holes, less than 1 cm over
the abdomen. This procedure is done under general
anesthesia and takes 20-30 minutes. Patient is usually
fit to go home the nest day and resumes his normal
duties within 3-4 days. |

Patient is usually advised diet free of fatty foods
(Oil,Ghee) for two to three weeks following surgery.
Small frequent meals are recommended. It is the
treatment of choice all over the world. The Department
of Minimal Access Surgery is recognised by Indian
Medical Association (IMA) Academy of Medical Specialities
and Federation of Obsterics and Gyneacologists Societies
of India (FOGSI) for training young surgeons the
skills of laparoscopic surgery. Our centre has successfully
trained many aspiring surgeons and gynaecologists
coming from all over the country. The centre has
successfully performed over the years more than
10,000 laparoscopic procedures. Most of the patients
require less than 24hrs. stay and the hospital offers
an atractive package for them.

Hernia is a small defect in
the abdominal wall through which the intestine contents
try to come out. Usually reducible they become an emergency
when the contents donot go back inside the abdomen. Most
hernias whether Inguinal, Epigastric, Umbilical or Incisional
can be repaired Laparoscopically by a mesh. However the
final modality has to be adecided only after careful clinical
evaluation.
